Kenneth Patterson, GG (GIA)
Ken is the President of NAGL and senior gemologist.
Mr. Patterson has been in the jewelry industry since 1997. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from the State University of New York at Buffalo, he went on to continue his education at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in Carlsbad, CA. There he completed all of the needed course work to obtain the title of Graduate Gemologist. At the GIA he mastered the art of diamond grading, examining and reporting on over 30 diamonds a day. After leaving GIA, Mr. Patterson pursued jewelry appraising and honed his skills at gemological laboratory and retail jewelry locations. He has been working as a jewelry appraiser since 2001.
When not at his desk Ken can be seen skiing, hiking and having adventures with his family in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Nicole A. Steinert, GIA, GJG, AJA
Nicole A. Steinert has been in the jewelry industry since 2005. She is a Graduate Jeweler Gemologist and Accredited Jewelry Professional from the Gemological Institute of America (G.I.A.) She has worked as a jeweler, laboratory gemologist and appraiser since receiving her G.I.A. credentials.

North American Gemological Laboratory is an independent gemological laboratory composed of a small team of passionate GIA trained Graduate Gemologists. Our goal is to provide unbiased information based on gemological testing and valuations based on market research. We are unique in that we do not buy or sell jewelry. We feel it to be a conflict of interest to our clients.
Our staff of Gradate Gemologists have all gained their certification from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). In fact, our current staff were all once Staff Gemologist at the world renowned GIA Gem Trade Laboratory in Carlsbad, CA. Their diamond grading and gem identification skills are top notch.
Our professional staff is continuously pursuing additional education. Education and experience; paired with the latest in gemological testing equipment, enables our laboratory to provide you with accurate results.
